So you hauled the generator to his house and he tries to short change you? Couldn't he just say, "That's all I got." What do you do then? You drag the generator back down 2 flights of stairs (after beating him up since we're all Internet tough guys)? Looks like you got lucky.

You could offer a genuine, brand new Rolex watch on Craigslist or Kijiji for $1, and somebody would still ask if they could have it for 50 cents. :p

Had the same experience selling tires. Uniroyal Tigerpaws I only used for less than a year before scrapping my old car. I think I paid $80 each for them. Was selling them for $50 rims included. Just crappy stock steel ones. Guy tried to shove $150 in my face. Argued with him because they were already at a significant discount and he agreed to pay what I wanted originally. He got his tires, only after paying me $200.

When I use it I just make it easy. Bought a modded Xbox from a guy. He had it all listed for like $250 or something...tons of games and whatnot. I said I'll drive over for $225 right now. Go over, give him $225 say thanks dude and leave.
If you're going to be a pirate, AT LEAST do your own console hacking.

Since I have never found myself in a situation of needing money and not having it along with the fact that principles are important to me.....I would have simply turned around and left. There is always someone else who will buy your stuff. I don't like selling stuff for this very reason which is why I usually give stuff away or throw it away.
