It's hard to say for sure, probably would kind of depend on my mood, but chances are pretty high that I wouldn't accept delivery of a pizza box in the mail. That's just me though.

Blanco, you totally need to ship it in the pizza box. Fvck priority mail. Your recipient will enjoy receiving his package in a pizza box much more. Think of the stories that he will be able to tell.

Post offices have been carrying fewer boxes because people take them for other purposes. You need to order them from their website to get what you really want.

I have shipped at least 150 books (yes heavy textbooks) in padded envelopes. I shipped 4 out today and I have over 100 listed on Amazon right now.

What difference does it make if it's a pizza box or not? As long as the box is clean and the book isn't damaged it doesn't inconvenience the recipient. Go for it.

Silly boy! You can't just do that. You have to flip your collar first. Then, you have to untie your shoelaces. Untying your shoelaces is one of those 'secret signs' to the people behind the counter. Then when you get up to the counter you have to request a box by the exact measurements of 15" x 28". Then, they'll know exactly what you're wanting. ;)

where are you getting an unused pizza box?

aren't pizza boxes a bit flat and large for shipping books?

A bubble envelope costs less than $2. I'm assuming shipping will be Media Mail, so that won't cost that much either.

This is a textbook though, not a little paperback.

Is this your first time shipping a textbook out? They have big bubble envelopes at the post office and at your local grocery store. I promise you the envelope itself will not run that much ($1.xx~2.xx).

When I sold a book in amazon.com, I used those envelops with bubble wrap inside. It was a couple of bucks so not a big deal. I also wrapped the book tight with ceran wrap to keep the pages together (it was a sh!tty binded Access book with floppy pages)

use the pizza box as a last resort. Ask around for free regular boxes i.e. at work, grocery stores, liquor stores, etc. There is always someone recycling boxes so it shouldn't be too hard to get a regular box. Use media rate as it is much cheaper to ship for books unless you charged Priority rates - then ship priority. You don't want to give the buyer any reason to give you a negative.

If you already printed the label, you probably wasted money and shouldnt spend anymore buying a flat rate envelope or box. ask the people at the desk. I recently sold some stuff and printed the label as flat rate and indeed the envelopes I used were not flat rate. I wasted money but hey, I still made 300 dollars selling all my junk.
