I am totally new to Solaris, but for my new position, I have to get hands on Solaris 8 OS.
But I don't know should I get a Sun station to learn it, or should I just install on my slow P3 700 CPU.
I am confused by all different servers/stations that SUN have on their website.
Can someone suggest a SUN server/station that is CHEAP and able to run 99% of the daily task...
Something I can buy from Sun or ebay for play at home.

If you can afford it, get something like a Sun Blade. IIRC they're about a grand but can be upgraded with normal hardware like SDRAM and IDE disks.

Solaris on Intel would work, but the HCL is very slim and performance is terrible compared to the Sparc versions.
