Are there any good articles that you've found on setting up computers/related equipment on a solar power system?

 
well.... i havent seen one. But the most recent issue of the economist had a good article on solar power and how it's not efficient and produces just as much toxic waste as other energy sources. (making of and desposing of the panels)

Has anyone tried this personally? Would I need a different power supply for the computer and/or an inverter? Do you know of a good place to purchase equipment?
 
CPU's at full load use lots of watts. Those panels are going to be expensive. It will take years to pay back that cost.

So then it would not be feasible?

I do have three systems that stay on constantly (mostly idle). One is a domain controller, another is a file server, the other would probably be my router PC.

Hmmm....I would like to take some of the cost off the monthly bill but not really spend a small fortune on a solar system.
