I'm going to be getting my own place soon and not sure if I should get solar power. Will solar power be adequate enough to power a computer with a Ryzen 7700X-7950X, RTX 3090 Ti or 4090, 64GB RAM, 2,x2TB SSDs, and a 1000W power supply 24/7? I use my PC late at night as well so I want adequate electricity at night as well for my stuff. I don't plan to get solar power but in case I'm ever talked into it I want to know what to expect. I right now have a Ryzen 5800X, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB RAM 2x2TB SSDs, and a 850W power supply but I plan on upgrading soon.

Worth it? That depends on where you live. When you get solar installed on your home you are still connected to the utility. Solar is not a replacement for utility power it is a supplement. Where I live solar isn't cost effective. Payback is way too long, 30 years or more. Just this month a large solar installer declared bankruptcy after lying to customers about returns on investment and the panels not living up to expectations. In other parts of the country/world electric rates are higher so offsetting those costs may be more beneficial. But yes, you will be able to use your PC with solar.

Two things really make a difference when it comes to ROI on solar.

Peak solar hours in your area and cost of electricity.
