Software to stream from a Mac to a PC...over the internet.

What I'd like to do:

Rip my DVDs to my Mac at my house.

Play them on my girlfriend's PC laptop at her house, connected via HDMI to her Plasma. She just has TV speakers, so no 5.1 audio or anything is needed.

She has Fios, and her computer (can) be connected via ethernet. My Mac is also connected via ethernet. My mac is a 2.4ghz C2D e7200 with 4gigs of Ram, if we're going to do transcoding or anything.

Will this work with any sort of resolution? Orb? What? Bueller?

ORB would allow you to do it, but how well it will work depends on tons of factors. Most critical is obviously your upload speed.


Far easier to just go buy an external enclosure + HDD.
