software to speed up clock?

Red Squirrel

No Lifer
Is there such thing as a program that can speed up clock by a specified %? So lets say I want hours to only last a minute, it would speed up all the ticks. I'm working on software that has some time based elements to it and I was thinking if I can speed up the time on the pc it would make it easier to test and debug.

I think you need a flux capacitor in your computer if you want to alter time. Plus a 1.21 jigawatt PSU to power it.

I could replace the quartz crystal with a variable flux capacitor. How much do those go for nowdays?

But on serious note, I meant speeding up the time of the computer, not the real time. 😛

Let's not forget: When he gets his CPU up to 88 Ghz he's going to see some serious sh!t.

OP: Not that I know of. Then again, I'm just not thinking fourth dimensionally.

One way would be to modifiy your software to read from a memory location for time.

Have a time generator application that places the "target time" in the memory location for the regular S/W to use.

Actually just thought of one way I could do it, is just have a batch file or application call the settime command, not as versatile and not true clock speeding, but may work for my needs.

I have just open this thread due to software for overclocking but it is about hardware (I guesses because there are some capacitors and other stuff).
