Software to recover data fro ma formatted drive

Does anyone know of a progrma, free or not that can recover data from a hard drive that has been DoD wiped? One of my co-workers wiped a guys drive while I was on vacation and didn't back it up. If we can do this in house it would be a lot better than going outside to do this.
