Software to make DVD Slideshows.

My girlfriend is looking to make a DVD slideshow on her computer, for playback in a standalone DVD player. Any anandtech-ers have any experienced recommendations as to some simple freeware/cheapware that might get the job done?

I need the ability to make an .iso or dvd folder heiarchy as the burning will be done on a different PC than the creation.

but it only makes VCD or SVCD...once the mpeg is created you would have to run it back through and encoder such as TMPGEnc to make it a DVD compliant mpeg-2 file in order to author it to DVD.

I would also have to author a menu for the DVD, right? What's a good DVD creation software once I have the mpeg she would create?

not really sure of any free programs, I always use TMPGEnc DVDAuthor 1.6 (TDA 1.6)...the new 3.0 is kinds sluggish and bloated IMO.

There are some menu templates built into TDA (Bland) but if you want good menus, you can use any photo editing program, personally I use Photoshop....I have a DVD template that works with it.
