Software to Create Windows 8 software

Hey guys, I am not familiar with Programing or anything similar other than old school html and sea monkey I believe it was, nothing major, but I know I seeing software that allows you to write new programs for Windows 8? like developer tools that you can use?

Any of you guys know what are they called? or where I could fine some? I was thinking of trying to create some custom "Page" designs for Windows 8, as I flip the Pages to pages, I know is out there, I just don't remember what is called.

Visual Studio would be the tool to use for writing Windows 8 apps.

Nice thread, i have experience with a program software called Construct 2, developed by scirra. You can make applications and games for more platforms and also windows 8 for phone and computer. If any details needed write here.
