Software to check RAID status

Hello everyone,

Here are a few details about the setup:

Motherboards were manufactured around 2008-2010, and are running either Windows Server 2003 or 2008.
Software provided by manufacturer does not work in above OS.
Motherboards are mix of Intel or Asus brand.

Is there any software out there that can check the status of a RAID set? Preferably one that will send an email if the array becomes degraded.

Are the machines all using the same make/model of RAID controller card? Who is the manufacturer, and why doesn't their management software run on server 2003/2008?
