Sometimes i notice that when a page hangs its usually because of "waiting for reply from ad.servedby.com" or something. I want to block all these advertising sites permanently so that NOTHING will be downloaded at all. I have adblock, but that just prevents it from showing up. Before its asked, i dont have a router.

AFAIK, you can put all of that sort of thing into your HOSTS file and your browser will skip right over them.

I think you can also use the firewall rules of various routers to restrict various domains and websites.

Editing your hosts file is the easiest way. If you google you can find premade host files that block most ad urls.
