Software that adds pixels when doing digital zoom?

Is there a software that can do sharp digital zooms for pics or even videos? Something like in Minority report or Enemy of the state.
 
There is a plugin for Photoshop called "Genuine Fractals" that uses fractals to add made-up details when upsizing digital images. Of course it can only do so much, and any information that it adds is just a guess.

Also, terminal windows make sounds whenever you type or run traceroute.
