Part of the grief you're getting is that this is a commercial enterprise rather than open-source. You're asking people to volunteer their time for free, to help you make money.Originally posted by: Capp00
Beta Testing
*I need someone who has a decent pc based network to test this out. I have 5 pc's at home but that isn't enough to really put it to the test.
*I want someone that is willing to update me on usability and any bugs that may be found.
*I want someone that can provide positive feedback about recommendations/suggestions (i.e. not "Your program sucks")
By Beta testing this, I will allow the tester to use the program for free until the end of the year.
Once they volunteer time, you're not even giving them a permanent license, only free use during the beta period where the product doesn't work reliably.
Companies act as unpaid beta testers for Microsoft only because they already are planning to buy or already have an ongoing license for the product, and if not a 1.0 they already use the prior version.
Makes sense, but that wasn't in the original post and we're a cynical bunch here.I was posting to see if anybody out there, that actually had a job with a few networked computers, would be able to use this software. If so, then I would allow them to test it for me and use it for free. I don't want anybody to test it just for the sheer fact of testing it. That wouldn't do me any good. I am offering for a working environment.
