I just purchased an Intel E5200 to replace a Pentium D in my system.
The problem is, my Gigabyte 945 motherboard doesn't officially support the chip, so it boots it at the lowest multiplier (6x).
I found that CrystalCPU is able to set it to it's correct 12.5x multiplier, and the CPU correctly runs at 2.5ghz ( watching all of this thru CPU-Z. )
CrystalCPU even has a nice feature to create shortcuts on my desktop for 12.5x and 6x... so, I can manually get the chip to run at it's full speed... but, I really want this to be handled automagically.
There is no BIOS update for my mobo to do it, and if a piece of software can do what saving me from buying a new motherboard would do, that'd be swell.
Ideas?
