Quick briefing:
Windows XP
Trip HD's
AMD 64 1.8ghz
2 Gigs DDR ram
random other parts.
Computer is fairly new. Until recently it ran smooth as a whistle. I encountered some spyware/virus issues so I ran the spybot/spysweeper as well as AVG. Cleared it out completely, or so I thought.
I was still having weird problems. Lsass.exe encountered error and is terminating, causing computer to reboot. Sometimes I would get an NT/Authority/System causing computer to shutdown error.
And more often then not, my computer just seemed a LOT slower than it should be. I tried deleting unused programs and clearing it out, to no avail. Programs would freeze up, little programs like internet explorer, or mIRC or just any little application. Weird thing was the file would freeze up, but most other things would work fine. Task manager was not accessible though.
So I decided to do a clean install of the OS on my main drive. Things seemed ok at first, started installing new drivers and then I quickly noticed I was STILL having these three main issues.
The most common one is the computer just freezing up in programs that I should have absolutely no problem running. And its never the same program, and its very random. I ran the sasser virus tool to see if thats what I had, but found no traces. I thought maybe it was embedded somewhere on my other two HD's and was reinfecting me after a clean install, nope.
Not really to sure where to go or what to do. Obviously Im researching these error codes on google, but not having much luck.
Anyone have any suggestions/experiences with something along these lines?
*edit* For the record task manager works if I try to access it before the computer starts freezing up. And when these programs freeze up, they stay frozen for 5-10 minutes or longer. Never to function properly again, until I reboot. So its MAJOR freezing - not just minor slowdowns.
