Software on DVD

Has there been any game or program since the first Baldursgate released on DVD? With more and more titles being released on multiple cds why wouldn't software companies give the option to buy DVD? It would also cut down on software piracy wouldn't it?

I hear that Baldur's Gate 2 will also appear on DVD, as well as some lame (but popular) Taiwanese game. But as to the "why" part, beats me.... 😕

I've got Riven on DVD, but I too have wondered why more games don't come on DVD. I guess it's because:

1. Not everyone has a DVD-ROM drive, but EVERYONE has a CD-ROM drive;
2. Retailers don't have space to "double stock" that many titles. (Though how many NEED more than one CD?)

It WOULD cut down on piracy, but if someone is gonna go thru the hassle to DL a hundred RAR files to reassemble Diablo 2 or whatever, then nothing will stop the w4r3z m0nk33z.

I'd love it with the multi-cd games.

Or sure, I can just keep switching around, that's just fine 😀 Whatever.

Just got myst 3, would have been nice to have a DVD option right away. At least then maybe it wouldn't have lame crippling unsafedisc on it and I could play it without cracking it

If it is because not everyone has a DVD Rom then why would companys release games that require a high end system?, not many people have a 700mhz 256meg PC. I bet there are more people with a DVD Rom in there system then people who have systems that can run a game like Tribes 2.
