Software installed from external hard drive

so i installed a program from my external hard drive (which i use to store music/videos etc) and it doesn't show up in my programs and features. how do i uninstall it?

also it only works when the external hard drive is plugged in via usb. i just want to get rid of it.
 
it didn't ask that it just installed. and i've checked the C drive, it isn't there anywhere. so i'm assuming its on my USB but its only usable on my laptop when its plugged in. hence the problem.
 
Sounds like it either (1) extracted the files to the external or (2) it could possibly be a U3 program.

Do you have to manually run an executable from the external for the program (1) or does the program show up in the lower right taskbar (2)?
 
aight well thanks for all of your help, i found a solution which removed the program from my external HDD and C drive so problem solved! 😀

i've got another issue though, Windows Defender. I have it on and running in the task bar, in the bottom right corner BUT the issue is that it randomly keeps popping up saying that windows defender is not on and i keep having to restart it. how do i stop it from giving me that pop up window saying that its off.
