Software for survey note condensing

Folks I've heard of some simple programs that will allow you to enter survey notes (rod readings), and print out a topo view. Does anyone know of this???? Any input would be appreciated.

System:
W NT4
P3 w/ 128 megs ram
laser 4L and HP 2500CM

I'll also post this in general and see if I can rouse any interest. 🙂

Look here I have not tried any of the software. Are you collecting the data with a gun and collector or are you using paper and pen? If you were using Linux I could provide software that would do what you want.

denali, when using the gun we go w/paper and pencil; same with laser. The Total Station will use a collector and we have the software support for a data dump and conversion. Currently checking the link and will give you feedback. Thanks for the help.

don't be shy people, I'm not proud about getting help 😱

This might do what you want. If this is just a one shot deal if you can send me an ASCII file with northings, eastings and elevations and I can send you a DXF file of the contours.

Thanks for the offer Denali but we do enough of these small surveys that I'll have to dig up the software. The majority of the jobs are pretty basic but we still have enough of them requiring very exacting measurements, where we resort to angle-stadia surveys. The Total Stations are great for this but we don't have one in each field office so rather then schedule one and wait, we just do it the old fashioned way.

I did poke around in the links you gave me and a couple of them look like they have some good software. Thanks again and hopefully I'll be able to repay the favor.

'Later.
