Software for making professional prints in high resolution?

k, a friend of mine who operates a restaurant business asked me what software he can use to make prints lika... menu, today's special board, large size (like.. B5 or larger) photograph of dish..

Well.. i don't know .. photo editing is one thing but designing software i don't know about..
Can somebody help me..to help him?

I would recommend a desktop publishing software like Adobe PageMaker or QuarkXPress. He might also be able to get away with cheaper options like Microsoft Publisher. Desktop publishing software lets you easily manipulate layouts and save in formats that print shops can work with.
