Got a good deal from a friend of mine to put a server at this colo datacenter.
I wonder what would be a good software firewall for this purpose ?
I think the server will run a flavor of windows server.
any suggestion ?

Are you set on windows? If not iptables is an extremely powerful firewall with a multitude of options.

/edit, I don't know if it's available to you, but if you decide on windows, ISA 2004 is a very nice package as well.

heheh isa would be nice, but I really dont think I need to go that far.
This is only for a single server which I am going to use to host a few things, and backup for most of my important e-docs. I've never used software firewall before, so this is a bit new to me, although I used various hardware firewall.
I thought about putting a hardware firewall, but with limited space that is not possible unfortunately. My friend suggested that I use software firewall to protect my machine in case of an attack.
