Hi,

I have access to both software firewalls? Which firewall should I use?

Thanks,

I've never heard of/tried neowatch, so I'll say ZA. Haven't had any problems with it.

I run zone alarm and it works great... i've never heard of the other. I have, however, heard that BlackIce is better than ZA... having only used ZA i dunno how much truth is in that though.

Blackice isn't better, its noisier. It gives ya more false positivesthen ZA. ZA is deffinatley the way to go.

Actually, I used to say BlackIce was a better personal firewall. But, I have used and bought NeoWatch 2.2, and I must say it is a VERY good program. I would have to say better than ZA.

If you plan to run NeoWatch on a Windows 2000 machine, make sure you either by 2.3 or download the patch for Windows 2000. I had a major issue that everytime the program launched, I would get a BSOD.

Version 2.3 is much more stable, and works great. Also, I love the add-in feature of NeoTrace Light.

Tiny Personal Firewall is favorite now. ZA used to be my favorite. ZA is definitely easier to use, but Tiny Personal Firewall gives you much more control, uses least resources, tells you what ports are being used, the bandwidth being used, but it requires you to know a little about networking (ie. TCP, UDP). I haven't tried Neowatch.
