Software defined vehicles - Good idea?

It's not just BMW with fake engine noises anymore, Ford and Toyota do it on some vehicles now, I'm not sure who else.

If they recorded Gilbert Gottfried making engine noises, I'd totally buy that as an add-on.

And then Pantone or whatever reclaims the rights for the color of your headlights from the manufacturer, so you have to purchase that if you want to see at night.
