Software change lowered cpu temp

W10, latest update. Had some recent crashes, which WhoCrashed indicated were related to my free Panda AV. Uninstalled Panda, installed free Avast, and am startled to see cpu idle temps lowered from 47 to 35. Always thought temps were too high. Anyone else getting high temps with free Panda AV?

I haven't run Panda in years, but watching things like cpu-z and windows processes should be showing you when apps are keeping your cpu at a higher-than-idle state.

Understood. I monitor with Core Temp. I'm just surprised that Panda would keep the temp 12 to 13 degrees hotter than Avast, at idle.

If you are the corious type, you could go back to Panda, and tell us what process is keeping the cpu from idling properly. In any event, glad you have an av that's letting your cpu idle properly now.
