I'm looking for some type of software that will backup from one 120gb drive to another. I would like to be able to schedule backups or backup every few hours. The only need I have is that it backups up open files. I have yet to find a program that will backup or copy files that are currently open or in use. I'm currently using second copy, which has everything I need, except for backing up open or in use files.

Sounds like you should set up RAID-1 mirroring. RAID is lousy for long-term backups (you want tapes or CD/DVD for that) but is perfect for "live" backups of open files to protect against disk failure.

RAID-1 doesn't protect against human error of course: if Word crashes before you save it it won't be on either disk, and if you delete an important paragraph then hit "save" you'll have 2 identical copies of the file without that paragraph.

Yeah I know about RAID 1 or mirroring, I was hoping to just use a program every few hours just in case something did accidentally get deleted. But I haven't seen of a program (other than Windows Server 2003) that will copy or backup in use or open files.

RAID is not for backups...it is for drive redundancy.....just use the OS's built in backup utility
