Trump is on a roll!!

http://blogs.barrons.com/techtrader...es-50b-investment-in-u-s-after-trump-meeting/

"Japanese business magnate Masayoshi Son, Chariman of conglomerate Softbank (9984JP), on Tuesday met with U.S. president-elect Donald Trump at Trump’s transition headquarters in New York City for 45 minutes and later announced he plans to invest $45 billion in the U.S. and to create 50,000 jobs."

SoftBank just recently bought ARM for $32B, where are they getting the other $50B?

Short google search reveals a company with a larger market cap than anything in the US, must be state run or something.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SoftBank_Group

Apparently this company is quite wealthy, says $20T in assets and $474B in revenue.

Do you guys really not get why individual businesses meeting with the head of state and then investing is bad?

If you don't then I would suggest you research Putin, Vladimir.

When Putin came to power, he basically gathered all the Russian billionaires and other oligarchs that had just recently made their fortunes exploiting the confusion that followed the collapse of the USSR and said "you either agree to do what I tell you, or you will pay". Most of oligarchs agreed to be under the authority of Putin, but a few refused. The ones who agreed are now very rich.

The ones who refused, like Berezovsky, didn't do so well. Trump appears to be doing his own specially-designed and very theatrically retarded version of this, although it may just be a happy accident. The guy is pretty awful at actually influencing important people.

Softbank has a huge stake in allibabba. Son was an early investor.

It is NOT a state owned company by any stretch.

Softbank throws the Donald a PR bone? Of course.

I doubt that Trump or the meeting altered their plans at all.

This will be the same as an international donor conference. The actual funds will be much lower than pledged.

LMAO at the TrumpTards... Son did not say what specific investments SoftBank would make, though he told the Wall Street Journal they would be part of a previously announced $100 billion tech investment fund. Son is known for making bold projections about the future. In 2010, he laid out a 300-year plan for his company that involved investing in 5,000 companies by 2040 to give his unborn successors a base to build on. DERP DERP

Son created his conglomerate by taking advantage of low interests rates and a conservative business enviro in japan and buying up everything in tech he can leverage.

He knows how to play people who inherited their role like Trump.

This is the SoftBank that had its merger, along with Sprint, with T-Mobile quashed by the Obama admin. Wonder what their motivations here are.

Both Sprints and T-Mobiles stock prices today will tell you what investors think.

That would be ¥20T not $20T and revenues of ¥474B. Which makes banks like JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo both about 10 times the size with the Current USD to Yen exhange rate of 114.25 Yen per USD.

Softbank has been investing in Sprint since 2012, OP is a moron. Should Obama get credit for that? I find it hilarious they signed their names on a powerpoint slide as if that means anything at all. Trump is just manipulating you idiots.

No worse than dealing with a country that their government subsidizes or owns its businesses, requires foreign companies building there to be majority owned by the same country, doesn't see anything wrong with copying your IP and trade secrets, manipulates its currency while putting up high barriers to imports while enjoying low barriers to exports, has poor worker rights, environmental and safety standards but that's all OK as long as you get your cheap prices while profits trickle up to the 1%.

But don't worry there are plenty of burger flipping jobs that will get boosted to $15 dollar an hour by government mandate and generous food stamp benefits that can help you make ends meet,

and that is more palatable to phony limousine liberals than some low educated deplorable working in a factory somewhere paying taxes and making a living under the rules and regulations they pushed for because they might have to reach in their pockets and pay higher prices.

Not quite fair to compare assets for a bank to a corp.

Totally agree it's hypocritical for fascist governments to complain about dealing with each other.

Which trade agreements did/do you support and which politicians did you view for that supported them?

Why do people on here say such asinine stuff? Most police and firefighters, for example, are conservative, yet they have no problem with their compensation being based on government and not by supply and demand.

I guess it's somehow elite to argue against people receiving living wages. Narcissism.

Meanwhile, if the minimum wage had kept pace with the pay increase the 1% has given themselves...

(it would be $33)

Here's an idea. All of you lefties complaing about trump and the minimum wage should come together and form a minimum wage helping group.
You could each sponsor a minimum wage worker. If say 10 of you paid that person $2-3 per hour, you could get them up to the $33 per hour sone people are claiming they should get. Nothing is stopping you from "fixing the problem". Stop trying to force the rest of us to pony up for what you consider to be the problem. Typical liberals always want someone else to be forced to pay for their crap and then they turn around and take credit. If your such wonderful humanitarians, you would do it yourself without even wanting to take credit.

Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

This is the same retarded argument as 'if you think taxes should be higher then you're free to pay them yourself'.

What's retarded about you wanting to and paying more? Also, why is your point more valid. You get a group of people together and each of you donate to min wage person of your choice so they can flip burgers, underachieve and never move up the ladder by working hard. It is so unfair to the 20 year burger flipper, pizza driver, convenience store clerk, that never does enough to move up. You can support those types of people since the business is just there to screw you over. The business would never, ever, promote the best worker. They are not in business to make money, they are only in business to screw over that unbelievably hard worker and keep that person at min wage. They continually promote the lazy worthless workers to keep those hard working min wage workers in check, damn the bottom line....
Maybe, just maybe the min wage workers are only worth 7-8 bucks instead of the 33 reported above.
But since your the min wage lifetime wafe supporter, you must know more than the business owners paying these people so i think you should form a group and step up. You did it for whales, dogs, cats, zebras, african children. Do it for your fellow citizens.... oh wait, whales and african children are truly helpless unlike the career min wagers...oops......

By your logic if someone supported the invasion of Iraq they should have just gone over as a one man Rambo operation to conquer the country.

Does that sound smart to you?

What a stretch, why not just comment on your way to fix the supposed min wage problem instead of deflecting to a non apples to apples logic comparison.
No solution from you unless it's someone else pay for what you feel is necessary..
