I'm just putting together my first home-built PC. :)
Some details:
Antec P-160 case
Antec NeoPower 480 power supply
MSI K8N Neo Platinum MB

The trouble I'm having is that the soft power switch on the front of the case doesn't work. I've gotten the reset button and HDD,Pwr LEDs to work but the switch is inop. I can use the hardware power switch on the back of the power supply to turn the PC on and off. Windows is able to turn the power off.

I've looked through the BIOS for some setting that might affect this but haven't found anything.

I hope you can help!

the switch is a two wire lead.... it's likely you have it incorrectly hooked up to the MB.

Check the schematic carefully... I"ve gotten it wrong on more than one occasion.

Thanks Souka.
At first I had it connected wrong-way around. No power at all that way. (I originally had the LED connectors correct and the Pwr & Reset connectors backwards)

I changed it 180 degrees and now power, but only via the hardware switch on the power supply. The MB manual is not much help...no schematic. The description of the pins on the board *does* specify "Power switch high reference pull up" and "Power switch low reference pull down to ground", but nothing more.

So, mystery solved. I called Antec for a replacement upper panel (the one that swivels). The Antec person said that the power switch in the panel is "notorious" for failing. They sent me a new panel, problem solved.
