Some of you aren't really getting it. It's not like it's some super fast process.. Nobody gets osteoporosis in their 20s or 30s.
When you ingest something that turns acidic as it's digested(sugar, animal protein), your body uses calcium to neutralize it. If you're not getting enough calcium in your diet, your body will borrow it from your bones.
That's why I said milk may actually encourage, not hinder.. osteoporosis.. Many people call milk liquid meat.
The only thing you can eat that is not acidic when digested is plant material. With the exception of cereal grains..
Heh.. most people eat a diet that consists of 75-90% acids, and 10-25% base. It should be leaning more towards the other way around, or at least 50/50.
Wake up people. Half of all of our medical problems are caused by poor diet. Think about it! Your body is nothing more than a biomechanical machine. At its very best, it can only be as healthy as the stuff you put in it. You can't feed yourself garbage and expect to feel wonderful! No, you're going to feel like garbage. Infact, most people that eat the SAD(Standard American Diet) are actually malnourished. Fat, but malnourished.
You can thank McDonalds and Twinkies for that.
I challenge one of you to try it for yourself. Nobody can tell me that I didn't feel completely different after I went on a fruit/vegetable diet for a week.
