So I picked up a gigabyte p55m-UD2 motherboard for a song. more than half off retail. Its problem its missing 3 pins on the socket.

I checked the data sheet but I couldn't determine what the pins did. So I figured what the hell I'll try it out. So I dropped a g9650 in it and low and behold it posts. I can access the bios and it looks kosher.

My question is, when I get an OS installed. Would running prime95 or some other stability test find any issues with the missing pins.

yea well I got it for 60 bucks. Plus if I'm gonna kill a cpu dropping it into a possibly problematic board I'd rather it be that than my i5-750.

Also I can flip it on Ebay for 90-100 bucks and then pick up a i3
