I've also heard many good things about the SL-K8TPro-939, but I wasn't sure how well they overclocked compared to the NF3 boards I mentioned.

I just read up on the MSI board you suggested and it does look good. I like the Nforce2 chipset so much that for me it is a no brainer to go with Nforce3 in the future.

I checked out coolerguys.com and they do indeed offer chipset cooling options so it looks like come summer time I will be buying that MSI board you suggested.

From what I've read, there were initial issues with the first few BIOS', but apparently it's a decent overclocker with a latest BIOS update.

I've also heard of many people being wary of MSI, myself included. LOL

My thoughts are if they are good enough for Nforce 3 than they should have a very stable baord on their hands.

Wavemaster is a very nice looking case!

I have the Antec Sonata because I'm trying to get my PC noise free. To no avail as of yet though. LOL

Well today I ordered up an Asus Nforce 3 mobo, an AMD 64 3700+ and a 120mm Zalmann heatsink/fan.

I just could'nt find a non-SLI /pci express board (for socket 939) that pleased me. As it turns out this is the best solution for me. My GPU and soundcard shall be fed a King's feast of cycles!

Very nice purchase, even though I would have gotten a slightly cheaper DFI board and probably a 3400+ at most were I looking to game. 754 actually isn't a bad idea, even now... I don't know what I must have been smoking in January.

Have fun with it.

go with 939, 754 will be phased into seperons soon

the only barton that is worth to keep is the ones that can do at least 2.6 ghz on air =P

I hear that AMD will drop the price on its processors again so it will be a good time to buy. I would go with the new 939s to hedge your options for upgrading in the near future. 🙂

Thanks!

Both were good choices. So far with me the trend has been when ever I get a new CPU a new mobo is in order as well. Were this not that case it would have been 939 all the way! In the end I chose Nforce 3 over the dual channel memory controlers on the 939 CPU's.

I have an Nforce2 board that impressed me enough to really want the Nforce 3.
