Socket 754 HSF Question. Zalman 7000-Alcu or Venus 12?

Hey guys,

As the topic above says, I want to do some overclocking on my rig I have below in my sig. I have my sights set on the Zalman 7000-Alcu or the Venus 12 because they seem to be good heatsinks under $40.

Can anybody give me an idea of the temps when overclocking in either of these heatsinks. I will only be doing moderate overclocking primarily because of the valueram in my rig. I am not sure which HSF will be silent and still give good cooling performance. Any help here will be appreiciated.

i think for under 40 you may be able to get teh zalman 7000b cu which is awesome if it fits on your mobo

i think the venmus 12 is loud but dont quoute mee on that one

i have used hte venus 12 in one buildup for socket 754 and while it is loud cranked all the way up it is next to silent when you have it turned all the way down. so it is really a matter of how cool you want it to be and just how loud is tolerable to you. i did not overclock the system but it ran very cool.

I am not sure if the weight of the cu will be a factor since I have to move the system around time to time.
