I like the Asus P5A and AB myself. Very stable. Doesn't like S3 AGP cards, though.

If you need to use SIMMs, you can scorfe either a Shuttle 591P or FIC 503+, but between the two I'd take the Shuttle. SIMMs don't "always" work in the FIC for some reason, but whenever I've used SIMMs in the Shuttle they've worked just fine.

PS: Don't you wish there was a porcupine avatar? ;)

EPoX MVP3G-M, MVP3G2, MVP3G5.............any of those will be the best, I built lots and lots of machines on those boards and never once encountered a single problem, even until this day. :)

Agree with everyone above me but STAY away from the FIC 503+. Wow, what a nasty running board that is. I would much prefer a Soyo 5EHM or 5EMA+ over the FIC.

I have the 5EHM and it has been nothing but great the whole time I have had it.

I gotta give soyo 5EHM a vote, i have made 3-5 systems with this board. but, I personally use the EPOX mvp3g2/g5... the 2 meg cache is nice, and you get 3 dimms as opposed to 2. depending on memory either board is great.

I had the FIC and it ran like a dream with a K6-3 450, o/c to 512. Depends how much you want to push it I guess...

I built my current system around a EPOX G2 and a k6-3 400. All the reviews I read at the time of purchase were outstanding. Not a single lick of trouble from this system in the year thta it's been running. I even bumped it up to 430 (Now thats overclocking) :D

Man, thats really burnin' it!. I have the 400 also (K6-3). I might try 430 just for fun. What multiplier & fsb are you using?
I really like my Soyo 5EHM/128Mg PC100/ATI 16Mg./Maxtor 8.3 ...yada, yada. It is stable ...does well on all my OFFICE stuff (how boring)..and I have it in a great Enlight case...even put a big fan at the top, calling myself BAD ...trying to cool it to overclock. Got it to 450 one time, but it was never stable, so back to 400.
Now you know the reason I am building a Duron 650 @ ???. Got all the pieces ...ceptin' the MSI Pro 2, that should be here HOLLOWEEN.....BOOOOO!
