Yep the p4 will only run at ~2ghz, slower than ur current cpu.... you could always try to overclock the board

ah yes, because the multiplier right? Ok, not worth it then, I'll tell him to hold on it. I found the 2.8GHz seems to be the fastest on 533fsb that I can find and it's cheap, maybe I'll just do that. Thanks.

I have a a 3.06ghz, 478 socket,533 bus cpu. My board supports a 800fsb chip.
Mabe we can trade?
My 3.06 goes for 150.00$ easy on ebay.(it's the fastest 533 bus cpu)
I need both your 2.26/533 and 3.0/800fsb cpu's.
or mabe your friend can send you the pc3200 ram for the 800fsb cpu and i'll send you my pc 2700 for your system and you can keep the 2.26/533. I don't have money for pc3200 ram at this time so i'll need your 2.26 till I can afford ram for the 800fsb chip.
??? get back to me???

It sounds like you guys are still computing in 2003

I just retired my P4 socket 478 beast a few weeks ago been looking for a buyer and not having much luck will probably craigslist it,

anyways here are the specs

Intel Pentium 4 Northwood socket 478 2.6ghz/800Mhz FSB
DFI PS83BL rev1 motherboard socket 478 DDR PC3200 800Mhz FSB
BFG Geforce 7800 GS GDDR3 256MB
2GB of Corsair XMS TWINX DDR1 PC3200 400Mhz
raidmax scorpio ATX case, w 420W raidmax power supply

good luck finding what you need, I just couldn't deal with my old rig anymore and decided to throw out about 600$ to get viable again.

new rig in sig

Actually the fastest to my knowledge, 533fsb processor is the one currently running in my laptop, which is a 3.46Ghz Pentium Mobile Processor.

I am currently looking for a Socket 478 3.6Ghz Processor To Try, and if successful, I will be selling this processor shortly.

Anyone interested, drop me an e-mail.
