socket 462 question

I was trying to insert a Tbird cpu into this mainboard's socket. When I pushed the arm down there is more resistance then im used to (socket7) -- Is that okay? I'm nervous about bending the pins.

make sure you have the cpu positioned the correct way (it has a notch that you can use to line it up)

i as well have noticed that there can be a lot of resistance when mounting tbirds. as long as you have the chip straight and what not, just push it down

what mobo by the way?

Alright, I did it, excellent...

I'm trying to see if it's possible to fit a socket7 Heatsink/fan on this thing because the one I ordered hasn't arrived yet... probably a bad idea though.

i've seen at least 3 threads with that very same question over the last few days here. do a search of these forums for socket 7 or something

VERY VERY bad idea. unless you have a GIAN socket7 heatsink, your tbird will kill itself (unless you underclock, maybe it'd be safe then)
