I want to use a hsf that is for 370/462/7 on my socket A mother board with Xp 1800, Possible?

Socket 462 and "A" are the same thing, so yes, it's possible.

Thanks, do all mobos support bolting the hsf to them? how do you tell, is it listed in the specs?

All Socket A/462 motherboards are supposed to, but I think there are a few that don't. The easiest way to find out is to look at Alpha's motherboard compatibility list, which I can't remember the URL to, but someone else should know it.
