OnlyFans is getting out of the pornography business.

The company will prohibit users from posting any sexually explicit conduct, starting in October. Creators will still be allowed to post nude photos and videos, provided they’re consistent with OnlyFans’ policy, the company said Thursday.


The changes are needed because of mounting pressure from banking partners and payment providers, according to the company.
“In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform, and the continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines,” OnlyFans said.
OnlyFans has attracted more than 130 million users by giving online creators a platform to charge their fans for photos and videos. Many of its most-popular creators post nude photos and videos, and it has been praised for giving sex workers a safer place to do their jobs.
But sex work still has a stigma. And OnlyFans is trying to raise money from outside investors at a valuation of more than $1 billion. The company handled more than $2 billion in sales last year, and is on pace to more than double that this year. It keeps 20% of that figure.

You can get tits for free on Google and basically everywhere else on the internet. They won't make a quick buck if their userbase sees a precipitous drop and it kills their valuation. There's literally nothing that OnlyFans offers that other competitors don't outside of the Sexually explicit stuff.

Now they're gonna have to throw millions at big name gamers and other people to get them to sign exclusivity deals, which I don't believe has worked out well for other that weren't already established as popular for such (Twitch for instance, and whatever the one Microsoft bought and then signed Ninja to but that's probably because it was Microsoft more than anything for its loss of interest by people). I expect we'll see another company (Patreon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, or Amazon/Twitch) buy OF after it struggles because of this decision.

They do, but this behavior all started when the government tried to force them to do that (and that happened under Obama).

Which, there definitely is a bunch of sketchy money flowing into sex work. But then that was true of the entertainment business in general (I forget how many big name musicians did exclusive private concerts/appearances for people like Saddam Hussein's son).

From what I've gathered most of that (in the cannabis industry) is pretty racist. White people don't have those issues nearly as much.

while i have only paid for explicit OF content, i know there is some softcore material, which they aren't getting rid of. there are also at least a handful of celebrities/influencers making millions that don't even show nipples.

OF hasn't specified the details yet, if they allow explicit content in PMs, it won't affect their business as much as i had originally thought. the sugar would still be there, just not listed on the label.

My understanding is payment processors are coming down on onlyfans because they don't really have a functional (or even plausible deniability level) child or underage porn filter or process to screen for that kind of thing, which makes them a HUGE liability to support.

That's the irony of this whole Q nonsense. Of all the crimes that get a slap on the wrist or are brushed under a rug, anything CP related brings the hammer down HARD and you don't even want to be doing business with the guy that is doing business with the guy that is associated with CP.
