religion in government is the problem, when people practice the truth of the gospel, sin wouldn't increase

Man will never be free of his evil nature.

Not until man is changed by God.

Huh...Does GOD gave man the intellect and free will?

That is why the US, based on the Constitution, which is based on Judeo-Christian beliefs, provides the most freedom and prosperity in the world...

How is the Constitution based on Judeo-Christian beliefs?

thou shalt not steal

thou shalt not kill

So you take two imperatives, "don't kill" and "don't steal", wrap them in some impressive sounding King James-ified language with "thou shalt not's" to make it sound religious in nature, and thus come to the false assumption that these imperatives are necessarily religious in nature? You think before the 10 Commandments (assuming this not a fable, which is most likely) no society had any restrictions against such?

If you believe that, you are an absolute retard.

I am much better off as a person and contributer to society as a whole due to religion. As a Christian, I can honestly say my beliefs and faith have lead me through many hard times and directed me to the path I travel today.

You can say that was my own hard work all you want but I know it was not, that without a helping hand I could not have made it. Does that make me a failure on my own? Well, yes, yes it does. As we are all inherintly evil and corrupt (that why true communism will never work, humans simply cannot be trusted to completly follow the rules) I would have completly failied without God and the guidance provided by "him" and my pastors.

I may be considered by some to be a "Bible thumper" but I am a stong believer in free will. I will do my best to act as an example to others through my life and my choices as well as my faith and hope that a few are convinced that there is something to this whole "religious" thing. I won't try and force anyone to believe what I do because that is simply not my place. God gave us free will, who am I to aruge with that?

And to the OP, if I am any example then I do believe that religion has the potential to better society as a whole instead of make them worse off. There are always bad examples of people turning religion into something that serves themselvs instead of serves others as is the entire basis of being a Christian, and many other religions for that matter.

I don't know if that will shed any light on anyones ideas of Christianity but I hope it does explain that Christianity can indeed help a society.
