Looking at a recent pay stub, I see I've given thousands of dollars already this year to the SS pot. Is there any resource to see how much you've given over your years?

And no I don't ever expect to see a dime of it when i turn 65 or whatever the retirement age may be.

SS administration sends you a statement every year at least, might be every quarter

just pay more attention to your "junk mail" and you'll spot it

or they might have the info online

I got my letter within the past couple of weeks. I received one about a year ago as well. I don't think I ever received one before that.

I received a statement letter last year for the first time also.

Maybe you have to reach a certain amount before they start sending you statements?
