Damn, Czech snow boarder Eva Samkova was in the zone just now. Led all three of her snowboard cross races by a huge margin, all the while wearing a helmet cam too.

Based on my observations, any event that involves skiing and is taken seriously, i.e. nothing with "tricks", America will be amazingly mediocre in said event.
 
Patiently waiting for the US hockey game. Hopefully it is not as stressful as yesterday's game. I swear that took a year off my life.

Just more to add to their speed skating medal collection. That brings them to 98, 28 more than their next closest competitor(Norway). It is now pretty much a given they will crack 100+ overall speed skating medals, since there only need 2 and there are 4 events left, all of which they are the favorites to win.

Canada beats Finland in overtimGM. I need to call Rachel, will call you in a little while e, 2-1. Sweden is first seed, USA second, Canada third, Finland (I said Russia before edit) 4th.

I grabbed the seeds from the live blog during the game (in China and it was not on TV). Looking back at my screen, that might have been if Canada loses.

I think Finland is the 4th seed now. That will reach me to post on 2.5 hours sleep.

How is that a negative? It was still an OT win - it just goes to show the strength of Russia's defense, if anything, imho.

Two of the top four seeds are from Group A, after all.

Based on outcomes alone, Finland might have gotten robbed with a lower seed. They won 2 outright, and lost in an OT - Russia only won one outright and needed an OT win, and also had their only loss in OT.
There's more to it than looking for cut and dry results based upon outcomes.
 
I see Russia got booted from 4th actually.
Still seems the overall metrics did place the US ahead of Canada. 😛

Dammit look at that bracket! No way for their to be a USA v. Canada final - there's a good chance said USA v. Canada matchup will determine who makes it to the Gold medal game, though we both have one match-up to get past for that.

Russia's gotta make it past Norway, Finland, and most likely Sweden to get to the Gold medal game. Russia v. Sweden could be a great game to watch too. Come on Russia!

16 out of 24 possible medals so far for the Dutch speed skaters, that's amazing

Talking about the seeding. Though Canada is not looking good.
 
I'm surprised Slovakia is doing bad. They did pretty good in the last winter olympics, they got close to beating Canada in the semifinals.
 
Each time I think the winter olympics grow on me a bit. Although sports like biathlon are boring to watch until the end, some are pretty good the entire time like snowboard cross. Because they look really fun to partake in.
 
For me, it is hockey and then curling. I can watch any two teams play hockey and I enjoy watching curling. The Canadian woman skip is playing like a machine right now.

Seriously. It was obvious what he was feeling and thinking about (his dead brother). Way to go for the tears and ask "you looked to the sky right before you started, what were you thinking about?"

I also was pretty disgusted when they were talking about his dead brother, Miller was squatting on the ground, head in chest, while the camera guy also crouched down and zoomed in on his face. Just leave the guy alone. All he wanted was his baby brother to be there to see him.

It seems that way.

I just can't get into these Olympics at all, this year. Maybe I'm suddenly older, I don't know...but this is the first time where I find myself tuning into Seinfeld episodes that I have seen dozens of times over the Olympics.

I used to like watching downhill and all that, but even this I don't care about now. I'd like to watch hockey, but it is never on. never. I'm not going to go online to stream it. I'm not going to wake up at 4am to watch it. And I will just continue to be annoyed that on weekends, NBC chooses to show their regular bullshit, and no Olympics, until 3pm. wtf is that?

they were showing stuff at 10 am on sunday on NBCSN
it was curling IIRC and i was annoyed because the EPL was not on as it normally is
