If you live in or near Orange county, here are a couple great deals.
Staples on 620 W 17th in Costa Mesa has been sold to a liquidator. Still full of Staples people, but no coupons or returns. Prices were marked up to FULL price, then the whole store is 20% for a week, then 30%, etc. In general that sucks, but some deals exist. TurboTax is 50% off, by their twisted logic that ended me up at $17 for TurboTax Deluxe before rebates. They also had some of the Sentry security systems, but only at 20% off, and again NO COUPONS or Staples advertised prices.
Goodwill has a Computer and consumer electronics store on Fairview and 5th (between 22 and 405, west and south of the 5). Target sends most if not all their returned games to them. Today was a purple tag sale, and I bought Half-Life CounterStrike, original Half-Life classic fortress, Tribes2, and Rogue Spear with a guide book for a total of $22 (no tax, its a charity). Lots of PS2 games and assessories, as well as the expected donated old TV and hifi stuff.
