whats everyone think about restarting the mtr after a proper client is out since the pre-race rates have been changed dramatically for alot of us.

Would that involve making new teams or just restarting it when everyone is back to their normal rate?

That wouldn't bother me especially, but I think it would only be worth it if a new client came out within about a week. More than that, and it's just too much bother for everyone.

I would like to see perhaps an extension of the MTR in the hope that this gets fixed. This MTR was a most exciting occurrence and alot of ppl got all worked up over it...I would hate to see it go to waste!

the only problem i have with letting things go on as is is that the teams were created to be semi-even based on a rate that has severely diminished since team creation.

thats very true!

There is no way to perfectly match the teams up and if we did it would end in a tie. I say we let it go and use the discrepancy as motivation to assimilate more. It wouldn't be as exciting without an underdog to root for.😀

good point, but would you feel the same way when there is a few people that said they would do the MTR but thus far have not produced anything?

I don't think restarting the MTR is a good idea. Its already begun, and I've already assimilated as much as I could. I have people doing it as a favor until its over, and I'd hate to make it harder for them by asking them to keep it longer than I originally asked, espicalyl when they are being nice and doing me a favor.

This adds another level of excitement to the MTR. Some people's production is heavyily "P4 orientated" (mine for example...13 P4 clients, 5 1.7s, rest 2.26 or 2.4) so if/when a new client comes out that has a proper fix (with SSE2 reenabled), then it will be interesting to see the differences it makes.

I think we should just keep it as it is, the framework and teams are in place, we have to just let it run it's course.

The aim of the MTR, apart from having some fun, is to increase the overall production of the team. If just 1 person has assimilated one more rig, then that has worked! Lets just keep up the smack talk, and see where it leads us! 🙂

I have to agree with Garry on this one. My rate is not effected by the SSE2 bug any more.
I just do not have any computers but one crunching away 🙁

I would also say "Let's just let the MTR keep going".
I lost about 1M per day with the v1.1.1 but we could all zoom to the finish with a fix.

i figure i'll chime in this morning 🙂 i posted yesterday saying as my p4's are affected i will be deleting the client.. as soon as a real fix which still allows for sse2 computation i will re-install the clients.. like remy said.. 30+.. to be exact i have close to 40.. atleast 38.. and its just too much of a headache.. its horrible now when i go see one and it shows "no disk space on drive C:" its a scary sight 🙂 looks like we're #1 in the MTR but i can gurantee it won't be ours for long 🙁 although checked a few p4's yesterday and they were working find on a 500xxx n.. isnt that the problem one?
