SoB TeAm: A suggestion...Let's help out our Seti TeAmmates **Now over 1100 WUs submitted already**

We have 1st place, however, our Seti Team has just lost 6th place to Broadband Reports Team Starfire.

ArsTechnica have ramped down production greatly to focus on Seti also, so here is a suggestion.


I propose that we, the Seventeen or Bust TeAm, help out our Seti TeAmmates, and run Seti@home for a while. I don't propose a total changeover (unless you personally want to do that), just a few systems, which will make a difference.

We should be able to take a hit in SoB of a few systems without losing much ground to ArsTechnica.

If you wish to run Seti and help out the TeAm, as I will be doing with my home machines, please follow these destructions and when you reach step 5, please select option 2 and enter the email address tasobseti@my105e.com

I've recently switched from running SoB back to Seti. Just added my TBred 1700+ at 1.9 to help. Going to install the client on my 1.5 celeron laptop tomorrow.

I'd run it under the above account, but I want to hit 15k before the project ends and I am really close.
 
Garry, if you were to do this for our TeAm then once we regained our place i would come and help you gain any ground lost. We really need this we are 23000 WU's down at last count and im sure with all the new Members and a little help we can get ahead of them.

Be it whether i'm an SOB or Taboo (helping others reach milestones b4 Seti1 ends) i love the comraderie.

You read my mind Garry. I was already in the process of switching my home fllet back ove rto SETI. For any that this "offends" sorry but I have to go back to the roots.!!!!

For those with labs or work machines I have a service install Robor send me that works great and even has an uninstall feature that you can use from youe own machine. You can setup a setiq and have each machine pointing to the q so you can monitor each machine from your machine. No need to even have to touch any of the machines except the one you use for the q .At work I have the q on my work machine so it is easy to keep check on the 40 or so machines we have it installed on and the installs was all done from my work machine.

I have moved my primary SOB machine back to Seti under my own name, should be 9-10WU/day more 😛
 
We appreciate any help we can get, but only if you feel comfortable doing so. I ran SoB for a little while at the beginning of the year & you can be sure i will repay the favor 🙂

I've got an old SETI acct with a few hundred SETI work units on it. Trouble is they switched @home to @insightbb last year, and I didn't change my email address with them. Anyway to get my password? If so, PM me.
 
You can create a new account and join it to the team. Smoke can PM you a email address you use to request to have your old account merged into the new one. That has been done at least a few times That I know of.
 
Not I... preparing. I am trying to get my camp ready for inhabitance, only it will not have electricity. I will be without a home unless I get a job which can pay rent, but so far since I got the eviction notice, no jobs have become available 🙁:|.

Moved my p4 3.2ghz fileserver over to that seti email. I figured its better than me running a few more units on my personal accoutn taht only has about 270 wu to its name. Keeping my other computer on sob.
Will probably run seti for a week or so and then switch it back to sob.

Those seti driver instructions were really simple to understand and do. Thanks.
 
Thanks to the SOBs, I am sure Smoke and I can work out some repayment when ARS comes knocking on your door after Seti is over 😀

I don't like being called a SOB, but I guess I can call you that too once you lend some help to SOB
 
I just put on a dual 2.4GHz Xeon and a 1.8GHz P4 to this account, should be a few more 🙂 As of now, up to 64 WUs, not bad for only 3 days! 🙂

Should be pumping them out pretty nicely, hopefully will hit the 100 mark within the next 24hrs 🙂

Lets show them what we can do! 🙂
