SoB Question

Back at home I won't have internet connection until August 7 (Damn broadband companies and moving), and was wondering if internet connection is required to run the app?

You will need to connect to the server at least once every 10 days for the server to know you're still there. However, most blocks only take a day or so to do, and there is no easy way of "caching" blocks. Your only option may be to use the sobsvc installer, and set it up to work simultaneously on 4-5 blocks.

Guess I'll just have to hold off on SoB until I have internet connection at home.

Unfortunately, that might have to be the best solution.

Many other projects will be grateful for the work you could do for them while you are offline 🙂

Oh yeah, another thought 🙂 (And I can't log in here, so can't edit 😱)

Maybe you could do a "processor swap" with someone for while...you run a project for them that can be run offline (DF etc) and they run SoB for you on their internet connected PC 🙂 That way, both of you will get the work done, and it will help both the projects, and your individual, stats 🙂

Something to think about 😉

Or are you at work at the moment?

At work. The only reason I am submitting SoB numbers at the moment is because the work computer is always logged on.
