SOB MTR vs. Seti

So, I'm reading all these posts about Seti coming to an end, and falling behind, and Taboo...and I'd really like to help more (I only have one CPU running Seti right now, and I do host a TA Setiqueue)...but I can't leave SOB in the middle of a race.

The Revolutionizers have just picked up steam, and the race is now actually a bit of a race (for the first time!).

It seems the SOB MTR is interfering w/ the ability of TA to respond to a threat.

So, what do we do about this situation?

While BBR is a threat, it was never an idea to take away from other TeAm projects. We all would prefer new TeAmmates to help in the battles.....and would prefer all TeAm projects to phrosper! 🙂

I think you should stick with the RACE at hand as well as the other SoB (that name is still a little funny to me! 😛) TeAmmates. Any help that any other TeAmmate volunteers to SETI is greatly appreciated and will be returned! 🙂 (As was to SETI when RC5 ended! 😀)

So when is the SOB client going to be updated?

My P4 2.8 was only 33% faster than my 1.2 Athlon on some K/n combos :Q :Q

This project took a huge dip in popularity system-wide due to the P4 project...

wait, just looked it up...after the programmers' college finals 🙁

So we have a wait ahead of us still :/

Well hang in there and do well 🙂 (still got a 2500+ on it 😛)

I'm afraid I can't agree until I find out what "phrosper" means. 🙂

The problem with the sob client with p4's was a reason why I switched to the ta sob seti account. I've already done over 30 work units and from what I've heard, the p4 is great at seti, which can no longer be said about sob. Being able to crunch 2 work units in 3 hrs is a lot nicer than when I used to do seti and it took 6-12 hrs to do 1 workunit.

This addresses an issue that can cause P4 systems to crash with large exponents above 5M. If you have a P4 or other system that uses SSE2 instructions, please upgrade immediately to SB v1.11

So, maybe this will help you guys with P4. I have my only AMD Athlon 1 GHz 🙁 🙁
