Mardeth, I just realized you have me on there twice (for team 2 and 3). I wasn't on there for team 2 before, so I assume I would stay with team 3? I hope that would be the case.

Mardeth, will this be a sticked thread ? I am marking my calendar, but need to find out how to flush my queue when the time comes. The statistics will be handled by our usual stats-page procedure or do we have to modify settings ? Also, does anyone have an easy way to limit SOB to certain hours ? I'm thinking I might be able to make a few assimilations if I can set it to only run at night.

I'm a MTR virgin and need some guidance.

Probably not. But Im sure wont have any trouble at all finding this thread. I dont know much queues but I think Ken_g6 is an expert on that :). Also stats are handled by MM so you should ask him, but Im pretty sure that its just gathered from SoB statics.

Also InverseOfNeo, yes I had a typo there, you should only be in #3 :).

Thank god I started this early and not just before the start :).

Hehe, its quite funny that at the moment all the MTR teams gathered are doing 78 McEMs/sec :).

I thought before the whole TeAm didnt less.

Queues for SoB are only in alpha testing. If you didn't get it from my thread, you probably don't have one. I'll try and get a new, more useful version out before the race begins. (The current version requires one server per client; this one won't.)

Well I did not even check on this thread yet. I did not know I was on team 2 :).

I'll try to assimilate more computers, but I think I am already at full boar.

Mardeth, I made a few changes to Teams 2 & 3 to include new members, which you may want to change in your list above.


Also, we really need to decide if we want to delay the start of the race because of the client difficulties.

Yes Tuesday is wrong. If there is no problems we'll start tommorow. Thought I heard of some client difficulties?

Yes, difficulties is an understatement. More like just flat will not run with any proth test with a n value in the n=498xxxx or greater range. My two main rigs (2.4C@3.0Ghz and 2.6C@3.4Ghz) are not running SoB due to this bug. They appear to be working on this but have not found a fix as of this time. Not running these two systems has cut about 1.9M off my daily production.

Opteron and P4 with SSE2 seems to be the only one's having this issue. This is most likely the reason for our overall team stats dropping from the 116 to the 96 range in the past few days.

It seems that MM has it wired, why not keep going and let's see how it shapes up...if the powers that be happen to get it fixed relatively soon and those effected decide to come back then it could make the race that much more interesting...

The last couple of days, we're still gaining a couple of T per day...the next two days will probably be very telling...the race to see how close we can get by the time "they" hit 1kT is worth watching and if the MTR helps us there, then so much the better...

I don't want to lose AMD users unnesseccessarially (sp)...what's the chances of some sort of sticky announcement or is it premature? New P4 people (and Opteron) coming in need to be directed accordingly and new (and old) AMD people need to be reassured...

I'm crashing out too. I've got a 2.4GHz P4 running Windows XP. It started after beginning a new test with k=5359 and n=5007046.

Looks like I'm out until there's a fix. :(

My P4 2.8C WinXP Pro box is crashing out..... every time I re-installed it came back with a new n that crashed it. I reinstalled before I was able to find any message about this issue (looked at the SOB site 1st, didn't have any topics jumping out in the DC forum). Sticky please and postpone until fixed (Loss of the 2.8C machine leaves me with 2 lowly P3s going).

Arg.

Ok it seems to be a pretty big problem cos the problems are with fast comps so lets postpone the MTR till problem is fixed. Not good...
