SoB: client? issues@!#$!@#$

hey guys.. as you've noticed our rate has dropped about 4 M cEMs/s which is devastating.. i am really unsure why.. but i think it has something to do with the fact that the server went down.. is there a way to clear all pending tests? and force the clients to re-download new ones.. also.. is there a way to make the client restart twice a day instead of just once?

As for clearing current tests, change the username in the Config, then click OK, it will ask to clear cache and get a new block, click yes. Go back into Config and change it back to the original username, and click OK again, then it should be OK for that.

As for getting it to restart twice a day....pass!

If the computers in question are fast enough to complete a test in 10 days, then I would suggest turning off intermediate blocks. Your chances of a stall due to a failed server connect go way down, since you only connect at the end of a test. From reading the SoB forum, it seems everyone running this project is too busy/unqualified to fix things like this, so don't expect the situation to change anytime soon.

Thanks for the info confused and MM.

Capin send me a IM with the number of machines you have. I am going to code up a page that will look at the progress of all the blocks we have out and it will track to see if they are changing. That way we can actually see how many machines are producing...

Also by analyzing the pending tests to our number of crunchers we can figure out if any machines are not reporting right. If so we then remove the pending test. That way the machine should on the next restart pull a new block.....

interesting concept...interesting...(thinking out loud mode on)...since there's no way to force a re-start twice a day (or is there?) (the "stalled/stopped" feature of the service handler never did seem to work for me), is there a way to force a re-boot remotely? but then how would one know which machine to jump-start? sign me, curious...ok, ok...going back to my room now...

pcdeath: heh.. yeah.. it sucks.. im sure i could restart remotely but i'd rather not have to deal with it.. i just wish the it program worked halfway right

Is there any way to get the source code to the service? If we could add a feature that sent information to a server as to the status of the client (specifically current processing speed) that could help figure some stuff out.....

well.. i think i may know why the clients are either freezing or the cpu just isn't putting out the same power.. i checked the lab today and the AC is broken.. the ambient temperature is 85 degrees..
