Not at all, if done properly and responsibly. I'll watch General Hospital or Days of Our Lives once or twice a year. It only takes about 15 minutes to get caught up on what has happened in between.
Soaps are for women, because women like drama and soaps are all about the drama. I don't know if it's bad for your "mental" state but there are a lot better things to do than watch soap operas
ok..just one...and only b/c of some hottie soap star. But he died on the show (i think I saw a commercial for a new show he'll be on NBC...oMG..hottie)....and ever since then I've just been randomly watching b/c storylines are somewhat addictive. It's like reading a trashy romance novel or something.
I dunno..I'm a girl, so I guess i'm excluded automatically from this thread. 😛
