...what is the largest, TRUE PC MONITOR, one could buy for up to...$750?

Will be used primarily for FPS gaming...(and web browsing too)...

Thanks!

Thanks Velis!

It has NOTHING to do with being LAZY, sure I can google search all day long...

I just VALUE what other GAMERS opinions might be...

Sorry if I put an extra BURDEN on your day...grin.

Why not go for a stand + 3x 22"- 24" monitors?

If your gonna use that much on monitors might as well be playing at the 5000+ resolutions.

WOW..that is cool...I guess you have to have at least two, dual video cards?

How do you change the orientation of the monitors?

They can rotate, so you simply tilt them 90degrees
(and setup the CCC to make use of it that way).
One card is enough for 3-6 monitors depending on which card you use.

With nvidia I think you need 2 cards in SLI, to have 3 screens.

The reason why 3 screens is nice is because you get Peripheral vision as well. Its not just a bigger screen, its seeing more of what your playing.

Ive been playing with computers since 1984 with the Kaypro 10. Ive probably owned a shit load more cards then that guy and I can say Ive only ever had problems with a single ATI card, a 4850 512MB. Ive also had a problem with a Nvidia card...an 8800GTS 640MB. The Nvidia card blew up, the ATI card just crashes sometimes. Doesnt that mean ATI is better?

Nope.

Fact is both companies have had their share of problems...and both companies have shipped out a bad card or two. When talking about high end features like multi monitor and 3D support neither one is perfect and both are relatively new. Its gonna take time before every new game works perfectly with either setup. Older games will most likely never work right, just the way the cookie crumbles. Doesnt mean those technologies arent worth investing in...theres already several good examples of their potential. Nobody questions a 700$ TV purchase, theres no reason to be discouraging the people who would get far more enjoyment out of a 700$ PC monitor setup.

Eyefinity is ok now, but it's not for everyone. Once OLED screens become mainstream (think bezel-less + much better PQ compared to TN's and far easier to setup) games will have better support and I'd imagine eyefinity will be the ultimate gaming setup and no longer a niche; assuming PC gaming doesn't decline to the point of irrelevance in 4+ years.

Sorry, just couldn't resist. I guess I needed the question phrased a bit differently 🙂
Trust me, if it were a burden, I wouldn't reply.

Anyway, I don't play FPS and I currently don't have a good idea how much lag it has (haven't tested yet), but I went for Dell U2711 and liked every moment of it 😀

Here, a few thoughts on it from a user perspective: http://velisthoughts.blogspot.com/2010/11/dell-u2711.html

I have to warn though, I'm not likely to notice 100ms lag if it's there...
