Tonight I was carded to get in a casino. I normally do get carded so thats no big deal but...

I handed the guy my state ID card. I misplaced my DL at the time so I'm just using my ID card. No big deal.

But this guy. He whips out his glasses. Looks over my ID card like there is something wrong with it. Then looks at me and asks me. "Don't you have a drivers license?" Now I do have a valid DL. Always have. But what does it matter?

It really piss'ed me off that he was sticking his nose in my business and not just doing his job. I know for a FACT that ID cards work just as well as DL's do if your carded.

So when he asked if I had a DL, I just stuck out my hand and asked for my ID card back. Stuck it in my wallet and left.

I just wanna know. Am I the jackass or is the nosy security guard??

You could have just said, "Yes, I do." Doesn't mean you have to give it to him.

I'd say that neither one of you is a jackass. You didn't make a scene. You just left. He didn't do anything wrong by asking you if you had a driver's license, even though you don't need one in this case.

You probably could have gotten in if you'd wanted to.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA

Maybe he thought it was suspect?

Just hand the dude the DL if you want in.

I just got the impression he was being nosy and rude. and looking over my ID like I was some terrorist. I mean what if I did lose my DL for some reason?? Is it his concern or business? His job is to ID people and let them be.

Thats why I just asked for my ID card back and left. I know I could've got on if I wanted to, But why patronize a place of business if they hassle you??

I think you're over reacting. He gets paid $7/hr to check people's IDs...who f'ing cares. Just say, "hey, fvck that guy" and move on.

Maybe so but there's a difference between doing your job and having a power trip while doing said job.

He pretty much did that, but then, later, was bored and decided to post on the internet about it.

It wasn't as whiney as the USPS rant, so I'm going to give it a 5/10. I mean, he didn't throw a fit on the spot. He was perturbed and came back here and posted about it. The only thing he was neglecting was pics. Here, let me help.

Was it this guy?

He probably couldn't tell the difference between a real State ID and a fake one. Maybe the DL and State ID have different security features. Even though, it's his job to know the difference.

Maybe he's just a tool? After all, he's getting paid to check IDs...ever read that story about the Taco Bell worker who wouldn't take a 2 dollar bill because "they didn't exist," who told the problem to the manager, who also thought it was fake because "it was counterfeit," and called security to get rid of the incredulous customer, who told security, who promptly told the Taco Bell guys they were idiots and ended up giving the customer some free food? You'd be surprised at the thought process of people who have just lived in a box all of their lives.

You sir are a douche :p

Who gives a sh!t if they look over your ID.
You obviously look underaged or something if they constantly ID you.
How about changing your appearance to look a bit more mature and grown up you nancy

Have a nice day :)

Bullshit. My e-Penis is so huge, it takes three fat women and a team of Clydesdales to jack it off. :D

Yep. If you were underage and they got raided, or something happened, they would be in deep doo-doo. He probably doesn't see many ID cards, so he asked for a form of ID he was more familiar with. If you were nicer about it, he probably would have had someone else check it out for you and let you in.
