I had one suckhole experience at the local ATM roughly 10 minutes ago.

Let me start from the beginning......

Yesterday I tried to pulse some cash, but the ATM was "thinking" for roughly 1 min and I became concerned. I decided to hit cancel and it ejected the card, phew. I then tried again and got the dreaded message "Declined......". I became very beligerant and started to swear, then got my card and went to another ATM thinking it was an isolated incident. The third attempt was a real heart stopper because it gave me the choice to view my balance, and it read -297.xx!! My heart started pounding really fast so I zoomed home, with the supercharger bellowing its sweet tunes, to check my balance online. Fortunately it was intact and a sigh of relief came over me.

Today I decided to try the ATM I had used on the third attempt from yesterday, and still I was declined to withdrawl cash. WTH? I decided to call Paypal customer service right then, and weeded thru the voice prompts. I waited roughly 1 min and was then greeted by "John". We discussed the events and eventually he reset my card. I asked him to wait on the line with me while I tried the ATM again, and this time I was able to get some moolah.

Thanks to Paypal John I have some spending money!!

they still suck. why did you get declined in the first place!

edit: I mean if it worked properly, you'd never have had a problem like that. Myabe they are finally responding to customer complaint s and getting people that can help?

Have you never had a random issue with any of your credit cards before? Sh!t happens and Paypal fixed the problem immediately once I notified them.

Cant be perfect, but yes, Paypal is pretty nice when it comes to handling ATM/debit cards.

I've been having the same problems with my paypal atm. I always get declined. I went to Wamu's atms and BofA's atms, both declined. But I could buy usps postal money orders with it. Guess I gotta call up paypal >_<

Well, I don't think that negates the many inexcusable things the company has done (and, to my knowledge, continues to do). If this is a sign of change then that is good. I will keep an eye out to see if the tide begins to turn in their favor.
Am I recalling correctly that eBay just bought them?

Thanks :) Called them up, on hold for 10 minutes and then they did the reset procedure on my card. I know why it says "decline" now. Whenever you try to withdraw more than your daily limit, your account locks up automatically as a safety precaution. Everytime that happens, you have to call back. So just a heads up for anyone who's going to withdraw more than their daily limit in the future :)

That was my problem then.
